Blossoms Pubcast
Stockport’s finest, Blossoms started their award-winning Pubcast in February 2019 from their local ‘The Blossoms Pub’ on the A6. From indie names like Honey Lung and Goan Dogs to pop and punk rock, there’s a bit of everything for everyone. From Kaiser Chief’s ‘Take Me Out’ vs Modest Mouse’s ‘Float On’ or David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’ vs Elton John’s ‘Rocket Man’ the two certainly don’t make life easy for themselves. There’re seven features with various music professionals including composer Steve Reich, Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks and producer Brian Eno, Matty discusses various topics from the indie rock landscape, the roots of emo and abstract art. Unfortunately Blossoms were only able to record three episodes of season two but there’s plenty to get engrossed in before we can all have a swift one in the boozer. You’re already one step ahead of the game. We’ve picked out seven of our favourite pods we believe you need in your life right now – if you already do, then great! James had a breakdown in 2017 so decided to purchase over 600 records from 2016 and tries to convince fellow comedians that 2016 is the greatest year for music, ever.
